Situated in the Yucatan state of Mexico and with its easy reach from Cancun, the hippy boho chic town of Tulum is a haven for yogis, explorers and beach lovers alike. Tulum is divided by the town, the beach and the jungle. There’s been a huge amount of tourist growth in recent years resulting in an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and boutique shops. Surprisingly for a little town in Mexico, most are charging London prices making Tulum a somewhat difficult place for backpackers on a budget. However, don’t despair! I lived in Tulum for 3 months and was still able to enjoy its charm. I’ll show you how. My destination guide explains everything from where to stay, the best things to do, where to find the cheapest yoga classes, how to eat on Tulum’s beach on a budget, how to completely milk the hotel zone’s happy hour cocktails and much much more!
